Our Allegro and Spartan lines have been selected for mite tolerance and are hardy and robust. We then select for superior honey production, over-Wintering ability, high build-up potential and gentleness.

VP Allegro queens build up more quickly in the Spring and can be split sooner. They rear strong brood into the Fall.

VP Spartan queens build up more slowly, but produce enormous brood nests and worker populations before the honey flow. They slow up when the nectar/pollen slows and make a conservative Fall brood nest.

VP Open-Mated Breeder Queens Folks were very happy with this offering in 2011. We're making available a limited number of mated queens that have passed our initial performance tests and would be considered breeder candidates: these will sell out quickly.

We take every step to see that the Queens you order arrive healthy, ready to work for you. However, we can't guarantee live delivery. We recommend USPS Express Mail next day (where available) or USPS Express Mail 2nd day. UPS overnight delivery is another option for more rural locations. * Inseminated Breeder queens are shipped UPS Overnight.

Custom Insemination Service

Our Custom insemination service has many options. One option is shipping your properly aged virgins (and drones) to our facility. Once inseminated, your queens are shipped back to you. Another option is to have us inseminate our virgin with your drones or the reverse. Let's discuss all the details including drone source, style of insemination, and shipping.
